                                                                            Saturday Morning Youth Shooting Program

The scholastic shooting program provides young adults with opportunities to participate in organized, adult supervised trap, skeet, and sporting clays activities.

Participants will learn safe and responsible handling and use of firearms. It is designed to introduce young people to shotgunning and hopefully encourage them to continue with what may become a lifetime activity.

The program is funded by an endowment from Mr. Ray Pages, Jr. in memorial to his father, Ray Pages Sr., and also the Prince George’s County Trap & Skeet Center.

The scholastic shooting program is open to all young people between the ages of 12 and 17. Shotgun shells, gun rental, range time, and instruction are provided free of charge by the Prince George's Trap & Skeet Center. The program sessions are held every Saturday from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

News Letter Fall 2008

Ray Pages Jr. presents a check to Mark Biggins to continue the Ray Pages Sr.  fund for youth shooting.  This is the third year that Ray has raised money to promote youth shooting at the Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center.  Rays father,  a life long shooter,  passed away four years ago and Ray wanted to honor him and created the fund. Since it’s conception the Youth Shooting Program has grown from 5 shooters to 25 shooters and is held every Saturday morning at 10:30am.

The Greenbelt Gun Club has also made yearly donations to the youth shooting program and a check was received from Roger Domer last month.

The Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center will be undergoing a slight renovation starting after the Maryland State Skeet Shoot.  During the renovation there will be two trap fields and three skeet fields open to the public.  Renovation dates are September 15, 2008 to October 15, 2008.  Hopefully this will cause the trap and skeet fields to be crowded.
